2003 Games have something for whole family
February 10, 2003 - (Alexandria, VA) - Binary Arts has announced new product introductions to kick off 2003. The company's main focus, as always, is on mind-challenging family games. Binary Arts President, Bill Ritchie, said, "Families are spending more time at home, and being more careful about spending their entertainment dollars. We've worked to provide fun, long-lasting games that will become a constant on the main game shelf."
The new games include:
The Perilous Plank Puzzle
Can the Hiker cross the river without getting up close and personal with gators, snakes and piranha? Move the planks among the tree stumps to help our hero across! This innovative new brainteaser is as challenging as they come, and the jungle adventure theme makes it compelling to play. 40 Beginner-to-Expert challenge cards show where to place stumps and planks to start each game, and a magnet in our hiker's feet make moving the planks a snap. Getting all the way across...that won't be so easy! Ages 8 to Adult.
Oodles of Doodles
The Fast Drawing, Use Your Noodle Game
Oodles of Doodles takes the art of doodling to a new level as players race against time to sketch out eight items that fit within a specific category. The items are simple to draw, so the challenge is as much on teammates' guesswork as it is with the doodler's artistic ability. Special Doodle Duel cards add a twist by letting everyone play at the same time. A fast-paced, fun-filled family game that will keep everyone in stitches. Ages 12 to Adult.
The Fast-Paced Word Race
Develop your lexiconic sixth sense with WordSense, the rapid-fire word game that goes anywhere you do! The thirty-one tiles and two dice fit neatly into the hard-sided carrying case for easy travel, and with so many variations in game play, WordSense will keep kids and adults alike engaged for hours. Players take turns flipping letter tiles and racing to think up words that contain those letters. For example, flip S-P-O, and call out STOP, POSTER, PREPOSTEROUS or OPPOSITE. Be the first to correctly call out a word, and keep the tiles. The player with the most points at game end is the winner. Ages 10 to Adult.
Mini Fifteen Puzzle Key Chain
The Fifteen Puzzle is a classic numerical nightmare, originally introduced in 1880--and one of the best sellers since its re-creation by Binary Arts in 2001. The original was so popular, we've made a mini version, just the right size for your keys, your pocket, or anywhere you want to carry along to play. It's great for gifts, but don't forget to get one for yourself! Ages 8 to Adult.
Children's Card Games
Four classic card games from the 50s and 60s
Cats standing on stars, monkeys with horseshoes, a jolly organ grinder (complete with his own monkey, of course)--if these images bring back childhood memories, then you'll love our 4 Children's Card Games! Each of our four classic children's card games is a faithful reproduction of the colorful, whimsical artwork produced in the original games in the 1950s. Even the instructions are an exact replica of the games that were a favorite of millions of children. Bring back the past and pass it on to today's generation of children with this assortment packaged in a sturdy gift box. Ideal for family game night or vacations. Ages 4 to Adult.
Spare Time Bowling Game
The Spare Time Bowling Game originated in the 1940s as the ideal table-top dice game for any size group. This exciting reproduction of the original comes with a score pad, pencil, ten dice and the bowling pin cup used to roll and store the dice. To play, roll the dice and then score it just like bowling. Dice include strikes, spares and splits as well as pins. Perfect for travel and family game nights! Ages 8 to adult.
