Back to the Dollhouse
bedroom

A picture in a familiar, ornate frame hangs on the wall. Where have you seen this frame before?

Where have we seen it?

The double-sided painting in the living room had this same ornate frame. Is the painting in the Bedroom also double-sided?

What does this mean?

The paintings in the Living Room and Bedroom are both double-sided. Examine the paintings carefully. What do you notice?

What should we see?

Look closely at the two paintings of the house, and you will notice that they are not exactly the same. For example, one painting has a heart carved into the tree trunk, and one does not. Do you notice any other differences?

What are the differences?

The paintings are divided into nine sections. Eight sections have differences. The section without a difference will lead you to the correct symbol.

We need the solution!

The left, center section of the house paintings are the only sections that are exactly the same.

Flip over the painting with the green frame, and find this same section on the portrait of the young girl. The symbol in the left, center section is the correct symbol. Find this symbol on the green section of the Solution Wheel, and line it up with the Bedroom icon (pillow).

An old wardrobe rests along the wall. Could there be anything inside?

What's inside the wardrobe?

Inside the wardrobe are five dolls. Each of them has a blue symbol on their foreheads and hands. There is also a black flashlight. A small section of the back of the wardrobe is painted red, and there is large hole towards the bottom. Need more hints about the five dolls? Think about where else the dolls might want to hide. Click this item. Need more hints about the other items? Continue below.

What do we do with this?

Use the flashlight to search the room. Does anything appear under the new light?

What should we see?

Multiple symbols appear on the left side of the room. Which symbol will help you unlock the door?

How do we choose a symbol?

The hole in the wardobe will help you find the correct symbol. Where should you place the wardobe so it reveals the correct symbol? A detail in the room will lead you in the right direction.

We need the solution!

The scratches on the floor were created when the wardrobe was moved across the room. One end of the scratches is under the curtain. This is where you found the wardobe. Move the wardobe to the other end of the scratches.

The symbol that now appears through the hole is the correct symbol. Enter this symbol on the red section of the Solution Wheel and line it up with the Bedroom icon (pillow).

As you were resting near the foot of the bed, something brushed against your leg. Could something be under the bed?

What's under the bed?

The blue bed slats are arranged in a grid pattern, but there is nothing else under the bed. Have you seen anything else in the room that might have brushed your leg? Check other pieces of furniture as well.

What should we look for?

Five dolls were stuffed in the wardrobe. Do they also fit under the bed?

How should they fit?

Each doll takes up 5 of the grid units created by the bed slats. Can you arrange the other four dolls around the longest piece when it is placed as shown? A detail on the bedframe will further help you arrange all the dolls correctly.

We need the solution!

Five dolls each take up 5 grid units. This equals 25 grid units, but the grid is 4 x 6, so there are only 24 grid units. A hand from one of the dolls will stick out through the hole punched through the foot of the bed frame. The symbol on this hand is the correct symbol. Enter this symbol on the blue section of the Solution Wheel and line it up with the Bedroom icon (pillow).

A figure made of burlap is slumped against the wall. It’s a Voodoo doll. Have you previously found anything commonly used with a Voodoo doll?

What should we find?

Pins are inserted into Voodoo dolls. A pin was lying on the Kitchen floor. That pin will be useful now.

What do we do with this?

Before you insert the pin into the Voodoo doll, closely examine the details in the room. Do you see anything else related to the Voodoo doll?

What should we find?

There is an impression of the Voodoo doll on the bed quilt. Line up the Voodoo doll with this mark. Now you can poke the doll. Where should you insert the pin?

Where does the pin go?

Poke the Voodoo doll seven times, in the seven spots marked on the Voodoo doll. Follow the pin from the Voodoo doll through the bed quilt, and mark where the pin pokes the quilt each time. How can you use these markings on the quilt to reveal a symbol? Look closely at the details in the room. Another item will help you find the correct symbol.

Above the bed, there is a drawing of a rainbow that is in the wrong order. Connect the dots on the quilt according to the order of the colors of the rainbow to reveal a symbol. This is the correct symbol for the doll. Remember, “there may be other puzzles in the room. These will often provide symbols or clues that will be used later in the game.”
